i took a man back in time, to move his basket from one house, to another. he thought this would stop him from becoming evil and prevent many of the things that have happened. the fact that his family had destroyed the family next door didn’t stop us from moving his basket from one house to the other.

when i put him on the other’s front door, an old woman that lived there came out and asked who I was to move someone elses basket. the man explained to her he was in the basket, seemed to knew her quite well and she wasn’t too alarmed by this. he didn’t mention their destruction, i had the impression he thought his presence in that family might insure their survival. he was cery aware that his original family would try to destroy his ‘new family’ without and despite his presence.

i think it was common for people to have children, place them in baskets, and deliver them to other families for care.

the brief peeks i had of these two houses– many generations lived there, and inside each house was an entire village/culture.

Home Depot is open late, so I take my time there
but that doesn’t have all the special pieces that those catalogs have

see, when i see objects that need to be filled
i start thinking about what i could put in them
so.. i’m a little worried [about going to the container store]
if i have an empty jar i start thinking about what’d fill that jar the best

or what would look nice in that jar i guess, i’m not sure.
and sometimes i wonder where i’d get the stuff i see in the jars

and other times i wonder if the thing in the jar is really out there somewhere
and how it makes those bubbles when it screams at me
and why the bubbles aren’t making lots of pressure and cracking the glass
