Anyone know if you can change a par-tic-u-lar bit in windows (xp)? what bit? glad you asked.
Application Focus! I want to be able to click in the ‘work’ area of a window, and not move it’s window to the top. I only want windows to be the top application when i click on their title bar/alt tab to them. this is one of 5 linux features i can’t live without, and workey workey is done on windows. i frequently need to get information out of one window and type it into an artifact bit of software called the mainframe. it doesn’t like the cut and paste in many ways. I need Webby/Excel/Whatever to stay ON TOP, while I type my input into the mainframe.
I know a iffy solution. Get a program to help me flag applications “always on top” but… that’s a little more aggressive than I’m going for. temporarily permanent. The linux way is smoother. I can alt tab and windows move to the top, i can clicky the work area and do things and my windows don’t really move.
Anyone? Anyone? *sighs*
Crap.

Dear Diary,
My camera broke, again. Exactly the same way it broke in Bulgaria. Too bad there aren’t any Bulgarian electronic stores around Boston. I’m looking at the Casio EX-FC100 and EX-FS10. No hingey part to break. I’m sort of looking at the EX-F1 and EX-FH20.I bought a unicycle 2 weeks ago. I’ve been attempting to ride it. I’ve got a total of about 1 hour ride time under me. heh. I can go about 3 feet on average, with my longest free unicycling being just at 10 feet. Whew hew. I intend to become a level 10 unicycler.
Aoife had her 4 month doctor and got injected with government mind control agents, had a minor fevor as a result, and that’s about it. She weighs in at the 75% mark (i don’t really understand what that means), and measures in the 90% area for height. Iova’s theory is, she’s putting her energy into growing, and not into screaming. Riordan, he screamed.
Riordan is good, thanks for asking. He’s starting to talk. He has a Japanese lady come and hang out with him for 2 hours during the week. She talks to him in the Japanese. Why Japanese? It isn’t like English or Bulgarian, and there are a lot of Japanese folk around. I suppose a Chinese would have been a better choice, but suspect I wouldn’t have an easy time learning it. Tones? What?
I’m lowering my coffee intake. It’s ruff. I’m down 75% consumption (i now drink only 16 oz of coffee a day), and have started drinking water instead. My body seems to want to fight the water as un-natural substances, and he and I do battle over where the water is going to go. I’m 10 and 0, if you’re interested.
I’m getting better at writing AutoHotKey scripts, in order to avoid doing silly work, at work. I have a feeling I should just learn Java. Thanks to AHK, I can do a task that would normally take me 30 minutes, in 5. That basically means I’m bored for 25 minutes. Not sure if I should continue this project…
XOXOXO

2? man!
so, we’re thinking about doing a birthday party. i’m a little iffy still, but… meh. no presents though. is it wrong to have a BD party without presents? we’re looking at getting him a like-a-bike, or a better tricycle.
LIKEaBIKE: Jumper
Radio Flyer: #53 Deluxe Steer & Stroll Trikeages ago, i’d located a tricycle with the co-pilot feature, and air tires. today, i just can’t find it. the noise of the plastic, hollow wheels on concrete is madness.

Dear Santa,
I realize it’s a little late for this, but hey, it never hurts. For Christmas, I’d like a ThinkPad W700 17.0″ widescreen for Professionals, rice it please. I understand that the economy is shot, so I could make due with a new hard drive
and a new CD/DVD burner for my existing laptop. Also, if you happen to have an extra one, I’ll take a Canon EOS v1. Not too many people using film any more, so I thought you might have one getting dusty somewhere.
Thanks,
-Adam

this bit about zunes turning off and not starting again makes me sad.
Word on the street is that 30GB Zunes are shutting down around the world en masse as they hit midnight on December 31st. … [A] panicked owner says, “Yup, stuck on 100% but it’s out of warranty. What do i do?
SAD!
Sad that my palm m515 that isn’t supported anymore.
Sad that my slightly less old and STILL AMAZING (all caps!) casio p505 (Link to PDF) isn’t supported. there are a few features it is missing from other exlim models before its time, and some things that need tweaking.
if an electronics manufacturer decides to stop supporting a product, they should HAVE to give it up. allow us to continue to make electronics useful, not wasteful. there are many fine examples of the fine things consumers can do. you’ll only gain loyality, guys. your products will only become better, and more popular.

It’s old news, but still a good excuse to get outraged at the US Government if you don’t have a reason handy.
Times New Roman 14, as the State Department put it, “takes up almost exactly the same area on the page as Courier New 12, while offering a crisper, cleaner, more modern look.”
–FoRK
Honestly, is that anyway to treat a loyal servant of the people?
I’m not sold on the change. I’m going to do my best to employ as many of the Courier New 12 font faces as possible in 2009. I hope I can give their life some meaning again.
VH1 needs to do a where are they now on the Courier New 12 font family.
